This design was my first attempt to create chain patterns. It was on a Shetland warp that I already had set up on a 24 shaft loom.Early sampling to convert a 24 shaft to 16 shaft design in double clothHaving got my design downscaled I sampled to improve the shape of the chain links, as initially they were a bit squat!I experimented with using the rust colour in the weft, using it in a range of places in the pattern.Sampling for Bristol Cloth competition designFinal sampling. I was tempted to add in a little bit of sparkle, just for my own pleasure.Final sampling.
